About Us

The purpose of the St. Louis Kollel is to allow accomplished Rabbis to perpetuate the study of Torah and to provide an exceptional learning experience to Jewish men and women of all backgrounds and affiliations. Our mission is predicated on the belief that Torah is the vehicle for connection with G-d and is a living document which will help Jews enrich their lives, their relationships, and their spirituality.

The St. Louis Kollel is a Jewish community organization of Rabbis who live in St. Louis and are working to strengthen the quality of Jewish education throughout the region. They teach classes in a variety of settings from Synagogues to Starbucks.

The Rabbis who make up the St. Louis Kollel pursue advanced studies during the day, and are available lunchtime, evenings or weekends for teaching and outreach programs. The St. Louis Kollel began in 1991 consisting of four rabbis housed in a local synagogue. Eventually, due to increased participation, we moved to our current site at 8200 Delmar Blvd. in University City.

Our current faculty of thirteen rabbis supports attendance of hundreds of people a week in various classes and discussion groups, and as well provides consultation on all matters relating to the Jewish individual. In addition, every Friday, many hundreds more receive an inspiring message on the weekly Torah portion by email or fax. Come in, investigate, listen to a class, or just say hello. We're here for you.
