Aish HaTorah St. Louis was founded 30 years ago and serves the same purpose now as it did then. That purpose is to offer Jewish education to all Jews, regardless of level of observance or affiliation. Aish’s main goal is to give as many Jews as possible a taste of Judaism, so that they can make educated decisions about their personal Jewish practice. Aish’s educational mission is to offer a wide variety of classes, so that everybody feels welcome and will find a personal interest in the topics chosen.

The St. Louis Kollel is a “think-tank” of dynamic scholars and educators who come together to study and share their knowledge with the St. Louis Jewish community. With a shared commitment to the values of community, family and educational outreach, the Kollel provides an opportunity for Jews of all backgrounds to learn and grow in an engaging and spiritually uplifting environment.

As part of this commitment, the Kollel has founded the “St. Louis Society for Jewish Medical Ethics” – a resource providing public lectures and round table discussions specially designed to assist medical professionals in the resolution of important and challenging medical ethics issues which arise in their daily practice.

Ongoing daily and weekly classes include studies in Jewish Law, Mishna, weekly Torah Portion, Prayer and Ethics, Home Study Groups, Lunch & Learns, Talmud Study for beginners, intermediate and advanced, and weekly Mishmar program Signature programs include Torah ‘n Turf, Learn ‘n Burn, Summer Yarchei Kallah and Jewish Unity Live. The Kollel publishes a Weekly Torah Bits newsletter which is available at all local shuls and on-line, as well as “Jewish Spirit”, a quarterly magazine.

The Kollel features a tape, CD and book lending library as well as a Bookstore offering a wide variety of Hebrew and English books and a full selection of seasonal Judaic items.

Through their dedicated Israeli shlichim, the St. Louis Torah MiTzion Kollel promotes the ideals of Torat Israel, Am Israel and Eretz Israel. Together with members of the community, these shlichim provide educational activities in schools and synagogues that aim to strengthen Zionism, Jewish identity and Torah knowledge in all sectors of the Jewish community.
