The St. Louis Kollel began in 1991 with a group of four dynamic young Rabbis. Originally housed in a nearby synagogue, the Kollel eventually expanded to its current site at 8200 Delmar Boulevard in University City.
Our current faculty of thirteen Rabbis service hundreds of Jewish men and women each week through a variety of classes, programs and discussion groups, as well as providing private consultation on matters relating to Judaism and Jewish life.
The Rabbis who make up the St. Louis Kollel pursue advanced studies during the day, and are available lunchtime, evenings or weekends for teaching and outreach programs. Classes are held in a variety of settings from synagogues to Starbucks.
The Kollel has many weekly educational classes, social programs, and special events including Lunch & Learn, Home Study groups, Binah Women's Division, Torah 'n Turf, Learn and Burn, daily classes in Jewish law and Mishna, Medical Ethics, as well as classes in Talmud, Chumash, Jewish History, Philosophy and special classes for Seniors. Social programming includes Shabbat and holiday celebrations, Family Fun Days and Summer BBQs.
The Kollel’s signature event, "Jewish Unity Live," is an annual celebration of Jewish learning held in February. Founder, Dean and Rosh Kollel is Rabbi Menachem Greenblatt. Mayer Klein, Esq. serves as President.
