“Eishes Chayil” (Women of Valor) Division
Women’s Institute of Jewish Studies

In 2008, St. Louis Kollel announced the formation of its ground-breaking Eishes Chayil Division - “An institute of Jewish studies for women, by women, whose mission is to provide inspiration and enrichment programs for Jewish women of all ages and backgrounds, including lectures, study groups and social activities.”

  The inaugural “Eishes Chayil” event which took place on Wednesday, February 4, 2008 featured an evening of “Connecting To Wellsprings of Clarity and Joy” with the world renown speaker and beloved teacher of Torah, Rebbetzin Tehila Jaeger

  Since that time, the Eishes Chayil Division has hosted numerous classes and programs to meet the needs of Jewish women of all ages and backgrounds throughout the community, including classes on the Weekly Torah portion, “Positive Word Power”, the “Book of Ruth” to name a few.

  True to its mission of nurturing the “Mind, Body & Soul”, the St. Louis Kollel Eishes Chayil Division also hosted the “Optimum Health Series,” featuring classes on heart and digestive health. With Dr. Daniela Hermelin of Wellness to Be, M.D. “Ladies Night Out” featured a learning session topped off with an aerobic workout, and the ongoing weekly “Learn and Burn” series offers offered by the Kollel and the local JCC offers an interactive, positive, women-based Torah teachings with physical fitness to improve the body, mind and soul.
